We are calling on the Government to add superannuation to the fortnightly Carer Payment.

Every day, Carers around Australia put all or part of their lives and ambitions aside to care for others.

People who provide care are not paid for their work, although some receive income support payments from the Government.

Becoming a Carer increases their financial vulnerability as they sacrifice income, future income potential and superannuation, to look after someone.

On average, a primary Carer will lose $392,500 in lifetime earnings and $170,000 in superannuation to age 67.

With your support, we are asking the Government to add superannuation to the fortnightly Carer Payment.

We believe that this small change will have significant benefits both for Carers and the continued support of those who need care.

  1. All Australian Carers must get Concession Card, Carer Parking Permit and Supier as Carers who are the backbone of Australia’s economy are struggling to meet basic needs.

Increase Carer Allowance and Carer Supplement to match Carer Payment as Carers cannot survive on current rates. Double Carer Payment Rates otherwise Carers wont survive.

Increase Carer Allowance and Carer Supplement to $1144 per fortnight. Thanks.

  2. I have been a carer for 25 years 51 now no super no holiday, probably will be 4 another 10- 20 years . No future retirement
