Maggie Beer’s Pork & Beef Meatballs

Deliciously tender, protein-rich meatballs, with a fragrant tomato sugo. Perfect with braised greens, polenta or pasta.

Pork & Beef Meatballs Ingredients
560g beef mince
840g pork mince
200g finely diced onion
30g minced garlic
90g grated parmesan cheese
1 whole egg
6g sea salt
160g full cream milk
50g quick oats
40g almond meal
500g passata
1 ltr tinned tomatoes
8g oregano, fresh finely sliced
Extra virgin olive oil
Method
- Soak almond meal in milk with the rolled oats for a few minutes and then combine with both minces, onion, garlic, parmesan, egg, salt, oregano and mix well
- Form into 55g balls
- In heavy pan seal well on all sides in extra virgin olive oil
- Add in passata and tinned tomato braise until meatballs are fully cooked through.
