COVID-19 continues to significantly impact our community, particularly older people. As flu season arrives and the cooler weather sets in, the best way to protect yourself is to keep up to date with your vaccines.
The COVID-19 vaccine is free, safe and effective.
You are eligible for a dose every six months if you are:
- aged 65 years and over
- aged 18 to 64 years and severely immunocompromised.
All other adults are eligible to get a dose every 12 months.
Some groups of people – such as those aged 70 and over – are at higher risk of becoming very sick with COVID-19.
You should speak to your doctor or pharmacist about the benefit of vaccination in line with your individual circumstances and healthcare needs.
You can receive your COVID-19 vaccine at the same time as the annual influenza shot.
